Accommodation - Guest Houses

Guest houses can provide comfortable and affordable accommodation for you while you train with us.  York is a compact walled riverside city and home to countless world-class attractions, museums and galleries.  There are plenty of pubs for you to sample during your stay with us!

York is a year round destination offering a lively café bar and restaurant culture and vibrant entertainment and festivals.  Ideally located in the centre of the UK, atmospheric York is roughly 2-hours by rail from London, Edinburgh and Manchester. It is just 15 minutes from the end of the M1 motorway.

York is the second most visited city outside of London so there are plenty of local B&Bs to choose from.  Rates start from as little as £25 per night for a single room and go to up £295 per night to stay in Lendal Tower!

Our York training centres are located next to the City walls and within easy walking distance of the majority of guest houses and pubs.  We have onsite secure car parking too.

Students who are staying a week with us normally travel to York on Monday morning and leave Friday afternoon about 3pm.  This means they only have to find accommodation for 4 nights.  Our recommended Guest Houses will normally give discount for students training at PPL.  If you are staying for a number of weeks, it is always worth asking your guest house for a discount - afterall, you are providing a much sought-after midweek booking - remember, it costs nothing to haggle!  But please mention PPL when booking at one of our recommended guest houses to ensure you receive your discounted PPL rate.

Student socal life is good.  Our students are from all over the UK and normally meet up in the evening for the occasional pint and something to eat.
