Green Deal First Seminar

First Green Deal seminar runs with great success

PPL Training, in partnership with Toriga Energy (a Pioneer Green Deal Provider) and Sustainable Building Solutions (Part of The Travis Perkins Group), is pleased to announce that they have completed the first Green Deal Seminar on the evening of 19th July with great success. The seminar, which ran from 6pm til 8.30pm, was attended by over 40 guests from a range of different trades throughout the UK.

The events were organised by PPL in response to the Government’s Green Deal go ahead in June, with the main aim of educating the audience of the finer details of what the Green Deal will mean to installers and customers; and the benefits that it will bring. Speaking at the event were Kevin Featherstone, Operations Director of PPL Training, Matthew Graves, Business Development Manager for SBS and Gary Bell, Director of Toriga Energy.

Speaking about the event, James Booth, Managing Director of PPL Training, ‘’We are very pleased with the turn out for our first seminar, both in terms of the quantity of guests as well as the business backgrounds the attendees came from. The most positive element of the night was the question and answers section at the end, which involved an hour of in-depth discussions about how the Green Deal affected each individual. We are now looking forward to our future Green Deal seminars, and hope to get as many Domestic Energy Assessors and New Entrants involved in the Green Deal as possible due to the potential benefits it can bring’’

Colin Gathercole of Economy Solar Systems Ltd, Kings Lynn attended the seminar and stated ‘’This is the third Green Deal event I have attended; and found it to be by far the most informative. I thoroughly enjoyed the presentations as well as the hospitality of PPL Training in their new impressive training centre.  I found out much more detail about The Green Deal, especially about the role between the Provider (Toriga), the customer and the installer in terms of the financial agreements and payback periods. I was so impressed by the Green Deal event and new training facilities at PPL that I have every confidence that they are the right training provider for me – so much so that I have already booked myself on the Green Deal Assessor course in August.
