PPL Training is pleased to announce that they have undertaken one of the first Green Deal Assessor (Advice) courses in the UK. The City & Guilds 6066 course was a huge success with 100% of the 8 delegates passing the online assessment, “role play” scenario and classroom based theory learning. The course started on the 3rd of July and ran over 4 days, which involved interactive role play in a real life scenario, known as ”real play” and involved replicating the situation of a Green Deal Customer and Green Deal Advisor.
The first course was made up of candidates from various backgrounds including PV installers, Electricians, Plumbers and Heating Engineers.
Development Director of PPL Training, Paul Seddon, who ran the first course, said “The course ran very smoothly and I am especially pleased with how the role play went. This was a feature that was enjoyed by all the candidates due to the additional pressure put on them compared to normal classroom learning. Based on the success of our first course, I am now very much looking forward to the future Green Deal courses here at PPL Training”.
The course is open to qualified Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA); and is aimed at those wanting to offer Green Deal advice within a domestic dwelling when The Green Deal starts in October of this year. Green Deal Assessors will then be able to assess a property to see if it is suitable for a Green Deal Solution.
The course will be run by PPL covering the UK, with courses in York (3 July ,17 July ,31 July, 7 Aug, 14 Aug, 4 Sept, 18 Sept), Reading (17 July, 21 Aug), Wigan (10 July, 7 Aug, 21 Aug), Edinburgh (14 Aug), Exeter (14 Aug) and Aylesford (Kent), (31 July, 7 Aug, 21 Aug, 18 Sept).
