PPL Training are pleased to announce that they have run the their first City & Guilds 2394–01 Level 3 Award in Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations training course in their newly equipped York training centre. The course was well attended with 6 delegates coming from a wide range of backgrounds including self employed sole traders as well as employees from national electrical contractors.
Speaking about the course, delegates commented stating:- ‘this is the first time we have been trained at PPL in their new York training centre and we were very impressed with the trainer knowledge, classroom areas and excellent practical facilities. I am confident I am will be able to put into practice the theory I have learnt on the course and am looking forward to the exam next month’
The new qualification partially covers the old City & Guilds 2391-10 Certificate in Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations course, which as of 1st August 2012 expired. The remaining equivalent of the old City & Guilds 2391 is the City & Guilds 2395–01 Level 3 Award in the Periodic Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations. These new testing and inspection courses are thought to improve the old 2391 qualification. The course allows candidates to update their knowledge of electrical installation regulations and inspection techniques and also gives candidates the confidence and competency to carry out a full inspection of new electrical installations. Exam dates for the new qualifications have been kept to a minimum by City & Guilds, with a further 7 dates throughout the next 12 months, with the next exam planned for 4th December 2012.
2394 is a level 3 qualification to train you both in the practical and theory covering initial verification and certification of installations, including 3 phase. 2395 is a level 3 qualification to train you the in principles, practices and legislation for the periodic inspection, testing and condition reporting of electrical installations.
