The Bpec Part L Energy Efficiency course is approved by CORGI, the Energy Savings Trust and the Heating and Hot Water Information Council.
It has been developed in order to offer any easily administered alternative to the City & Guilds 6084 Energy Efficiency course.
The content and focus of both the training and assessment have been made appropriate to the requirements of gas engineers and plumbers whilst still aiming to satisfy the requirements for compliance with Approved Document L1.
The one-day Bpec Part L Energy Efficiency course consists of detailed training session which includes the issue of a comprehensive set of documentation to all candidates, this is followed by a 30 question multi-choice open-book assessment. Candidates will be informed on the assessment recommendation before leaving the centre.
The CORGI Gas competent persons scheme has a mandatory requirement that all operatives must hold the Bpec Part L Energy Efficiency certificate, City and Guilds 6084 Energy Efficiency certificate or a recognised equivalent.

A - There is one open book multiple choice examination.

A - Like most PPL courses if you fail the Energy Efficiency course examination you will be offered a resit free of charge.

A - None, they are both nationally recognised qualifications in energy efficiency. The only minor difference is that the examination for Bpec is paper based and the examination for City & Guilds is online.
