Back to Electrical Training Courses
This course covers the training and assessment for the City & Guilds 2377 Portable Appliance Testing Certificate. It is designed for current PAT operatives wishing to gain a formal qualification or for new entrants to Portable appliance testing (PAT Testing).
PAT is the issue of electrical safety certificates for individual appliances such as computers, kettles, monitors and other electrical equipment. There is a legal requirement under the Electricity at Work Act that all electrical appliances must be inspected and tested by a competent person every 12 months. This applies to all places of work (and those where the public have access to) except domestic dwellings. Applicants for this course may also wish to consider the LOGIC Periodic testing and certification course for domestic properties. This allows the holder to issue landlords domestic electricity safety certificates for single phase domestic dwellings.

This is a 1 day training and assessment course. After successful completion of this course the operative will be able to issue PAT certificates on a commercial basis providing they use PAT equipment suitable for purpose and which hold a current calibration certificate.
