The City & Guilds 6089 NVQ (Level 2) in Plumbing is normally taken after successful completion of the City & Guilds 6129 Technical Certificate in Plumbing (level 2). Assessments for the 6089 are carried out onsite so there is no need to visit PPL. Our fully qualified NVQ assessors cover the entire UK and will visit you onsite. It normally takes around 2/3 visits from a PPL assessor along with other evidence to complete the NVQ in Plumbing course.

The normal time period for completion of the City & Guilds 6089 is about 4 to 6 months. This is dependent on the type of work being undertaken and its variety. Once you have completed the 6089 and 6129 you will be classed as a qualified plumber to NVQ Level 2.

You must have completed a City & Guilds 6129 in order to proceed to the onsite NVQ. The only exception is for mature candidates (over 25 years) with 5 years or more experience in the plumbing industry. These candidates should see the City & Guilds NVQ Plumbing (Direct Entry) course.
