This City & Guilds NVQ in Plumbing course (level 2) is aimed at existing working plumbers who wish to gain a formal NVQ in Plumbing. Students must have 5 or more years experience in the plumbing industry and be over the age of 25 to be eligible to take this plumbing course. (Documented proof of previous experience is required).
From 2010 all site workers will require a minimum of NVQ level 2 in their trade along with a CSCS site health and safety certificate / card. This NVQ plumbing course allows such worker to gain their NVQ while still earning a living as the majority of assessments are done onsite.
This NVQ 2 is eligible for funding through the Government's Train to Gain program. Students may be able to claim up to 100% of their course fees in the form of a Train to Gain grant - please call us for details.

Students are required to complete the theory tests for the 6129 and then PPL will assess onsite for the 6089. There are 11 multiple choice end tests to be completed and 1 GOLA online test. There are normally no practical assessments at PPL as we will assess onsite for the 6089 NVQ. It will normally take between 6 and 8 onsite assessments to complete the NVQ in Plumbing level 2. If any practical work is unable to be assessed onsite, such as lead work, this can be done at PPL for no extra charge.
Proof of at least 5 years plumbing experience is required, if this is not possible the student should consider the full City & Guilds NVQ 2 (6129 & 6089) plumbing course instead.
Please see the theory tab for this City & Guilds NVQ 2 in Plumbing Course (Direct Entry).
