The demand for your new skills will be high. Figures from the UK Government expect the number of new people required in the UK green energy sector to rise to 50,000 over the next 5 years. The consequences of global warming and the increasing use of green energy into the future will provide you with a secure employment outlook. At PPL we have training many hundreds of people in renewable energy technologies, we were one of the first in the country to offer solar and rainwater courses from Bpec.

The unique aspect about this course is the guaranteed work placement with a national green energy company. This can be flexible but is normally of between 2 - 4 weeks of onsite training. After successfully completing the placement students maybe offered contract or permanent work as renewable energy engineer with the placement company. This part of the course is optional and subject to availability*

Students complete all the renewable energy courses over a period of about 12 weeks. This can be spilt into weekly blocks when it is convenient for the student to attend for no extra charge. The plumbing NVQ is completed over a 4 to 6 month period while the student is working (and earning!). All students also receive a free comprehensive renewable engineers tool kit.

All students who successfully complete this course will be allowed access to future 2008/9 renewable energy courses at a 50% discount as they are developed by the national certification bodies. These include NICEIC Solar PV (Electric panels), Bpec Air Source Heat Pumps, Bpec Biomass which are due later in 2008/9.

This City & Guilds Renewable energy engineer course package represents a saving of over £1500 off our normal combined course fees and payment can be made by instalments.

After successfully completing the course students go onto start up their own renewable energy company offering solar hot water, heat pumps, rainwater harvesting and general plumbing and electrics. The course is spread over several months to allow the student to complete at a pace which is suitable for them.

*The optional work placement cannot be guaranteed for students taking our 12 months Buy Now Pay later payment plan, in order to comply with current banking pratice. Please see our terms and conditions for more details.
