This course is aimed at people who are new to testing, providing an introduction in how to test and inspect electrical installations.  Candidates need to have some previous electrical knowledge and is aimed at those wishing to gain further skills in fundamental inspection, testing and certification of electrical installations.

This qualification was developed in association with the electrical installation industry and it satisfies the underpinning knowledge requirements for those involved in the initial verification of electrical installations.

   

The assessments on this course are split into two components.  There is a closed-book on-line multiple choice test covering the Knowledge of Fundamental Initial Verification.  There is also a practical assessment on the Practical Application of the Initial Verification.

On successful completion of this City & Guilds 2392 course, candidates may go on to take the City & Guilds 2391-10 Periodic Testing and Inspection course.

City & Guilds 2392 Fundamental Testing & Inspection course Practical Overview:

Candidates are presented with practical assessments to complete throughout the fourth day of training.  Candidates must complete these practical assessments to set detailed performance criteria.  Candidates are also advised of the requirement to observe appropriate safe working practices to avoid assessments being stopped.

A - The practical re-take fee is £150 plus VAT and the written paper fee is £125 plus VAT. PPL will re-arrange assessment times to suit.  The written paper for this certificate is centrally set and marked by City & Guilds.
