City & Guilds 6361-02 Non Domestic Energy Assessor Course Overview:

Who should attend?

From 1st April 2012, all buildings connected to a Solar PV installation must have a valid Energy Performance Certificate (EPC).  The EPC must be a 'D' rating or above if the FIT's claimant is to receive the higher FIT rate.  The course is aimed at Solar PV installation companies who wish to carry out their own EPC's on commercial properties where a PV system has already been installed or is planned to be installed.

Purpose of the course

To give delegates the required knowledge to qualify and register as a Non Domestic Energy Assessor (NDEA).  NDEA's collect data on the dimensions; construction, heating and hot water provision of the property, and enter the information into an approved software programme.  This, in turn, will produce the EPC.  The first part of the certificate is a benchmarked measure of the property's energy performance on a scale A to G.  The second part of the EPC is cost effective recommendations for improving the energy performance of the property, information on renewable energy and recommendations on energy efficient behaviour.  The course includes ALL 3 commercial property types required to complete the assessments.  Unlike some other providers, candidates will leave the course with all the 3 required assessment visits completed during the course and they will be able to register with an appropriate energy assessment body quickly after leaving the centre.  After qualifying as a Non Domestic Energy Assessor candidates may also train to be a Green Deal Assessor from June 2012, pre-register your details with PPL Training and receive a further discount off this course.
