This course will enable you to understand, and demonstrate the knowledge and skills required to carry out inspection and testing in accordance with the requirements of Part 6 of BS7671.

The training course is broken down into classroom and practical demonstration sessions. It will allow attendees to issue periodic and new installation test certificates. Previous electrical practical experience is strongly recommended prior to attending this course.

We strongly recommend that delegates have passed the City & Guilds 2382 17th Edition Wiring Regulations training course. In order to be accepted on this course and be aged 18 years or over.

The York City & Guilds exam dates (duration 2 hours) for this course are as follows:-
6 December 2016, 7 February 2017, 18 April 2017, 6 June 2017, 8 August 2017, 10 October 2017, 5 December 2017

Note: If your exam is booked within 6 weeks of these dates, there will be an additional fee of 55.00.

Who is this Course For:
The City & Guilds 2394-01 Level 3 Award in Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations training course is aimed at qualified electricians who need to carry out initial verification and testing of new installations as part of their work. You should have already completed a 17th Edition course and be familiar with Guidance Note 3. We also strongly recommend that you have practical experience of inspection and testing prior to attending this course.

Course Overview:

This course will enable you to understand, and demonstrate the knowledge and skills required to carry out inspection and testing in accordance with the requirements of Part 6 of BS7671.

The exams consist of a written exam, duration 1 hours, set and marked by City & Guilds.  This exam takes place on a pre-determined date by City & Guilds, and will be on Wednesday evenings.  City & Guilds limit the number of exam dates available for each year.

This course involves an on-line exam consisting of 40 questions in 1 hour 20 minutes as well as and four practical assessments taking 4 hours in total.

Q - What happens if I fail the course?

A - The practical re-take fee is 150 plus VAT and the written paper fee is 125 plus VAT. PPL will re-arrange assessment times to suit. The written paper for this certificate is centrally set and marked by City & Guilds.  The paper is only set 6 times a year so candidates will have to wait until the next examination date if they fail their previous attempt.  The practical assessments however can be done anytime.
