Improve your understanding of the Water Regulations.


This course is for anyone requiring an understanding of water regulations/water byelaws.  It is also for those wishing to become approved plumbers/contractors. 

Successful candidates are encouraged to join the WIAPS – the Water Industry’s Approved Plumbers Scheme. This enables you to issue a certificate of completion to both the householder and water company.

This elearning course covers the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999 (England and Wales) and the Water Byelaws 2004 (Scotland) which meets the requirements of WRAS (the Water Regulations Advisory Scheme) of which the majority of the UK water companies are members. 



The following course dates will start at 6pm in Slough: - 22 May 2017, 17 July 2017, 11 September 2017, 23 September 2017 and 4 December 2017.

After successful completion of this course, you will be able to apply to your local water company to be an 'approved contractor' for water regulation purposes. This means you can self-certify your plumbing work and also work for housing associations and other various non-government bodies.

Manual - Once you have paid for your e-learning course you will be sent a manual which you will need in order to start your course. You will be notified via email when your manual has been sent and you have been approved to begin your course.

Module 10: Hot Water Services
Module 11: WCs, Flushing Devices and Urinals

In Centre Practical Assessment

The course includes a half-day ‘in centre’ practical session once you have completed the e-learning modules.
