Course Overview:
HTM 04-01 Part A Section 1.17 states that only installers with the appropriate qualifications, regulatory knowledge and competence should be employed to install and maintain water installations. This course will provide you with the required competencies and will allow registration to one of the seven Approved Contractor Schemes, providing a pathway to WaterSafe Accreditation. On completion, an onsite assessment of your work will be carried out and you will attain the QCF Level 3 in Safe Systems of Hot and Cold Water and Sanitation. The course requires an initial pre-assessment which can be booked at anytime up to a week before the course commences.

This course will enable experienced workers who do not hold plumbing qualifications to achieve the recognition they deserve.

    To sit the course you require the following:

    Evidence must be provided on at least one occasion for each of the following three systems:
      Cold water system
      Hot water system
      Sanitation system 
    The evidence provided for each of the systems must include the following as a minimum:
      Hot water installation – installation of at least one sanitary appliance and its associated pipe-work
      Cold water installation – installation of at least one sanitary appliance and its associated pipe-work
      Sanitation systems - installation of at least one sanitary appliance and its soil/waste connection to the stack

    Upon completion of the course, our assessors will carry out onsite visits to candidates to assess evidence of their installations on site.

      This is a Level 3 qualification of 9 credits and 69 guided learning hours consisting of 6 mandatory units. ALL units must be achieved to achieve the overall qualification.


      Successful completion of this qualification proves that learners have the technical knowledge and practical skills to safely install and commission cold water, hot water and sanitation systems and associated components.

      Our head office is conveniently based at York Business Park, on the outskirts of York city centre, easily accessible by car (with direct links to the M1/A1/A59/A64) or public transport (less than 4 miles away from York railway station). 
      This well-established training centre accommodates a number of practical assessment areas for a highly interactive and participative training experience, alongside comfortable classrooms.

      Slough Training Facilities

      To meet training demand across the UK, we have successfully extended our course offer and consultancy service to a new training facility in Slough. This is ideally situated on Slough Trading Estate, with Central London and Heathrow both less than 20 minutes away. This modern training facility covers 15,000 square feet, including 7,000 square feet of practical assessment training space, which is filled with the latest specialist equipment and technologies.
