Back to Plumbing Courses
This course is aimed a people who wish to learn basic plumbing skills for their own DIY plumbing or have a taster of what it is like to be a plumber.
This course is aimed at two groups of people; those who wish to gain addition DIY plumbing skills and those considering a career in plumbing but would like to 'have a go', before committing to a longer course. There are no previous plumbing experience requirements to attend this course - just a willingness to learn and a good sense of humour.
The course starts with an introduction session and covers some basic plumbing theory in the classroom. It quickly moves into the workshop where you will be taught about pipework, fittings, soldering, bending and some basic appliance assembly.

Our training groups are small with an experienced plumbing course tutor with up to 6 students. They will show you a task and let you have a go, simple!
The course provides DIY enthusiasts the chance to gain new plumbing skills they can use for their own projects or family and friends. The course is not aimed at those wanting to go straight away into being a plumber. For this we recommend the City & Guilds 6129 with LOGIC and City & Guilds 6089 NVQ in Plumbing. Although the Plumbing taster day is a good foundation for moving onto these courses.
The course is run on a Saturday with a start time of 10:30am and finishes around 4pm. There is also a free buffet lunch provided.
