Bpec Underfloor Heating course (Design) UFH (Edinburgh)

This course has been developed by Bpec in association with the Underfloor Heating Manufacturers Association. It is an underfloor heating system design course, therefore principally aimed at those involved in the design of underfloor heating systems (UFH). There is a separate installers course the Bpec Underfloor Heating Installer course.

Course modules:

• Explain the basic principles of warm water underfloor heating (UFH) systems
• State the advantages of UFH systems
• Identify the design conditions and relevant standards appropriate with UFH systems
• Carry out heat loss calculations
• Describe the floor systems and finishes associated with UHF systems
• State the various UFH systems types of the market
• Explain the operation of UFH systems and components
• Carry out UFH system design using worksheets, including working on a project building

This underfloor heating training course concentrates on the design side of UFH systems.  It is aimed at persons involved in the design of UFH in domestic and commercial enivronments.  Persons involved with the installation of UFH systems should consider the Bpec Underfloor Heating course (Intaller).

Both the designer and installer of under floor heating may benefit from attending a Bpec Unvented Hot Water course or the Bpec Part L Energy Efficiency course.

This under floor heating design course concentrates on the design process. There are no pratical elements, however different working UFH systems are demonstrated to the candidates.
