City and Guilds Accredited Photovoltaic Sales and Surveyors Course (Edinburgh)

Course Summary

This course will give companies and individuals the knowledge of PV in order that they can successfully survey and sell PV installations to prospective customers. As well as giving the expertise of selling and surveying PV systems, this course will also familiarise you with PV Technologies, the Feed in Tariff (FiT), understanding the Micro-generation Certification Scheme (MCS) and will also cover Building Regulations and Planning Permission.

Course Objectives

The objective of the course is to give the delegates the understanding of how to survey and sell PV systems to customers, increase their knowledge of PV installations and conditions which could affect installations of PV systems, how to calculate the estimated system energy yields and estimated payback periods to be able to provide the customer with a quotation.

Who will benefit from the course

This sales and surveyors course is aimed at those companies and individuals who are about to or have just been approved for MCS PV installer certification, counter staff, customer facing installers, contract negotiators and sales staff who are either direct or telesales.

The UK Government has announced that from April 1st 2012 all Solar PV installations will require an energy performance certificate. This must be carried out by a qualified Energy Assessor, this is huge opportunity for DEA's and NDEA's to offer PV surveying as part of this EPC assessment. By offering a combined EPC and PV Survey, Domestic and Non-domestic Energy Assessor can gain a new valuable revenue stream.
