City & Guilds 6361-11 Award in Domestic Energy Assessment Professional Development course
This is an
update course is a mandatory for qualified Domestic Energy Assessors (DEA's) and hold the
City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Energy Assessing or equivalent qualification. The update course must be taken and successfully passed before October 2012 in order to allow the DEA to continue energy assessing. The City & Guilds 6361-11 Level 3 Award has been designed to ensure that current practising Domestic and Non-Domestuc Energy Assessors are aware of recent changes to the EU Performance of Buildings Directive, changes to the RdSAP software and revisions to the Energy Performance Certificates.
The Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) requires that any practising after April 2012 has passed this update course.
The qualification covers the knowledge required to continue after this deadline.

The City & Guilds 6361 DEA update course is split into 4 main modules:
- Understand the professional requirements to operate as an accredited Domestic Energy Assessor
- Know the technical knowledge required to meet the current domestic energy assessment requirements for the preparation of EPCs
- Know the technical knowledge required to meet current domestic energy assessment requirements for energy efficiency requirements
- Know the purpose and content of the current Energy Performance Certificate
There is a 1 hour online examination consisting of 40 questions.
