Knauf ThermoShell Internal Wall Insulation (IWI) Installer Course Overview:

The ThermoShell Internal Wall Insulation system insulates the “hard to treat” or solid external walls from the inside of the property, meaning there are improvements to the buildings thermal performance without affecting its appearance. The replacement of CESP and CERT funding with the new Green Deal finance and ECO funding from January 2013 will increased the demand for internal wall insulation installers and surveyors. Subject to acceptance, ECO can fund both materials and labour for the installation of Internal Wall Insulation.

Who should attend?

The course is aimed at existing ThermoShell IWI installers and new entrants wishing to become an approved Knauf ThermoShell Internal Wall Insulation Installer.

All attendees must have passed a ACOPs Gas Awareness course.

Crossskill to Part P Electrics and save on sub-contractors

The installation of internal wall insulation will require sockets / switches and other electrics to be moved. This can be costly exercise employing sub-contract electricians. PPL offer a 9 day Part P Electrics and Wiring Regulations course to enable IWI installers to meet the requirements of Part P in domestics dwellings - see Bpec Part P course. After completing the PPL Part P courses installers my join a Part P Compentent Persons Scheme and complete and self-certify their electrical work in dwellings.
