PPL supporting the Government's Green Energy initiatives in the Pre-Budget Report 2009

Continuing the Government's efforts to combat climate change, we were delighted to hear some new measures announced in the Chancellor's Pre-Budget Report 2009.

Boiler Scrappage Scheme

The Government has pledged to invest £200m into scrapping old inefficient boilers and replacing them with new energy efficient ones, thus reducing household bills by an estimated £200, whilst also reducing the amount of carbon released into the atmosphere.

Tax-Free Feed-in Tariffs

The Chancellor also announced in his Pre-Budge Report that the income generated through the Feed-in Tariff Scheme on all Wind and Solar Powered systems would be tax-free, further encouraging more people to introduce such systems into their homes and businesses.
