Feed-in Tariffs officially announced from 1st April 2010

PPL are delighted with the news this week that the proposed Feed-in Tariff system on renewable energy systems is scheduled to start from April 2010.

Householders and businesses who install low carbon solar photovoltaic (PV) panels (up to 5 megawatts) to generate electricity will receive an income from the Government, even if they use the generated electricity themselves.  Any electricity that feeds into the national grid will also provide an additional income.  Combined with cheaper bills for consumers, this is the much needed kick-start for people considering introducing renewable energy generated technologies in the home and workplace.

Here at PPL, we provide training on the installation of Solar PV panels, please click here for further details.  Be the first to offer installation services in your area by obtaining a nationally accredited qualification through one of our training centres.

The Government intend to incentivise other renewable heating sources from 2011, including Ground/Air Source Heat Pumps and Biomass Boilers.
