Renewable Heat Incentive Scheme

The European Commission had expressed concern that the large Biomass tariff was set too high, but has now given State Aid approval to the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) on condition that the large biomass tariff is reduced from 2.7p per KWh to 1p per KWh.  The revised regulations are subject to Parliamentary approval, but the Department of Energy & Climate Change are hoping to open the scheme to applications by the end of November 2011.
