Plumbing Courses
At PPL we specialise in offering plumbing courses for people wishing to gain further DIY plumbing skills, enter into the plumbing industry and for qualified plumbers to gain further plumbing qualifications. In order to be classed as QUALIFIED plumber to level 2, you must have achieved a NVQ level 2 in Plumbing. The NVQ is a combination of two qualifications, the City & Guilds 6129 Technical certificate in Plumbing (done at PPL) and the City & Guilds 6089 Plumbing NVQ (done onsite). After you have gained your NVQ 2 in plumbing you can move onto NVQ 3 in Plumbing or the Bpec Gas Foundation in order to achieve CORGI Gas registration.

There are many plumbing training centres in the UK that don’t offer the NVQ in plumbing (i.e. NOT offering the City & Guilds 6129 and City & Guilds 6089) therefore you will never be classed as a qualified plumber to NVQ level 2 if you train at those centres. You also run the risk of having to repeat the training and assessment at an approved centre should Government regulations change in the future requiring all plumbers be qualified to NVQ level 2 in plumbing. In fact in order to work on a building site from 2010 you must have a NVQ in your choosen trade. We also offer a weekly combination of practical and theory training sessions, so you dont spend the first 5 weeks stuck in a classroom - plumbing is a 'hands on' subject.

We also offer at our plumbing school, nationally recognised plumbing qualifications and plumbing courses from City & Guilds, Bpec and Logic Certification. These include Bpec Water Regulations, LOGIC Unvented Hot Water systems, LOGIC Water Regulations, LOGIC Building Regulations and LOGIC Legionella Prevention Certificate. We also offer electrical training courses specifically for plumbers such as Bpec Part P Defined Scope and Bpec Part P Full Scope, Bpec ACS Gas Qualifications, OFTEC Oil assessments together with City & Guilds 2382 17th Edition Wiring Regulations and City & Guilds 2391 Certificate in Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations.
