Course Facilities - Training support

Whether you are a new entrant into the construction industry or an existing tradesperson updating their skills we offer an excellent level of support through our experience and approachable training staff:

• Small group tuition
• No futher assessment fees for extra training and assessment
• Free online support and training
• Support for students with dyslexia

Small group tuition

Students on our longer plumbing courses are placed into small plumbing course tutor groups with a named mentor and a maximum of 6 plumbing students in a group. We find this is the best way to support students from all backgrounds and assist them in achieving not only a successfull pass but more importantly confidence to earn a living after leaving our plumbing training centre. Other centres have a trainer to student ratio of 1 to 10 or even 1 to 15.

No further assessment fees for extra training and assessment

The majority of our courses offer the unique policy of no further fees for additional training or assessment in order to achieve a successfull pass. For example for those on our 8 week City & Guilds Plumbing courses there are no further fees if it takes 9 or 10 weeks to complete the award. Unlike other plumbing training centres we will not charge you a penny extra. It maybe worth your while asking the other plumbing training centres how much they will charge if you take longer to finish the award. The only exception to this policy is where PPL are charged by certification bodies per online examination attempt and in these circumstances you will only pay the small fee PPL is charged per attempt.

Support for students with dyslexia

PPL has the experience in training and assessing  many students with dyslexia. We offer confidential support and examination methods in conjunction with guidance from our certification bodies. One to one support and assessment is provided on request.

Online training support

We offer online training support for our plumbing courses through City & Guilds via their SmartScreen website. After booking a place on our NVQ plumbing courses we will register the student free of charge for the Smart Screen website. Further details maybe found at by visiting the site here.
