Dept/Unit: Mechanical & Electrical Division Reports to: Water Hygiene Manager Salary: £38-41k dependent upon experience/ location Allowances: Company car (or car allowance), Mobile Phone, Tablet and Laptop provided Based at: York or Slough Type: Full Time Job Purpose/Scope Due to increased demand for training, and following the company’s expansion to the south, we are looking for a Senior Water Hygiene Training Consultant to be based in either our York or Slough Training Centres. Job Specification Training and Development Deliver training events to agreed standards at PPL training centres or on customer premises, throughout UK and occasionally overseas Carry out assessment of candidates against established criteria Develop both open and bespoke events to meet specified needs Quality Management Ensure that delivery standards and service levels meet customer expectations Process promptly all associated documentation concerned with the above activities Person Specification (Qualifications) Essential An engineering apprenticeship or equivalent recognised training programme in water systems A relevant plumbing/ mechanical qualification at QCF level 3 or above Suitable engineering experience in water hygiene or building services discipline, preferably within major FM or NHS Environments Good knowledge of the control of Legionella Bacteria, and other water-borne pathogens, in all water systems A full driving license and be willing to work away from home for short periods The ability to work both individually and as part of a team Excellent interpersonal skills with strong written and verbal communication ability Enthusiasm for training and development The ability to maintain a relaxed outlook under pressure Patience and a sense of humour Desirable Recognised City and Guilds / BPEC Qualification in Control of Legionella, Water Regulations Engineering qualification at QCF level 4 or above (HNC or equivalent) Recognised Internal Quality Assessor qualification (D32/33, A1 or equivalent) Skills, Experience and Personal Qualities Practical experience of the control of Legionella in Water Systems (including Cooling Towers, System, Disinfection, Water Risk Assessments, Sampling Techniques) Responsible Person experience Personal Qualities Previous teaching or training experience Literate in MS office applications To apply for this position please email: swh-01@ppltraining.co.uk or call 0333 121 1215.
