Successful Authorising Engineer Safe Systems of Work Training Courses at PPL

Notice

Due to the age of this post some of the information maybe out of date.
PPL Training are pleased to announce they have recently run their second Authorising Engineer training Course at their head office in York. The course was very well attended, with 10 delegates present from 7 different Facilities Management and blue chip companies. The Authorising Engineers are normally responsible for the appointment and management of Authorised Persons carrying out safe operation of high risk mechanical and electrical installations such as High and Low Voltage Electrical, Mechanical Pressure Systems and Petroleum Facilities. This is the second Authorising Engineer course that has run at PPL Training’s York head office with a full number of delegates. The Authorising Engineer training course course provided the delegates with advice and guidance concerning the Management of Safe Systems of Work with respect to Health & Safety Compliance and the role of the Authorising Engineer; including Authorised Person selection, training and appointment, as well as Auditing and Incident Investigation. Authorised Person Competency is a key theme throughout the course and the delegates complete team projects on this topic. Speaking after the running of the Authorising Engineer training course, Steve Martin, Electrical Business Manager for PPL Training commented: ‘A lot of hard work has gone into setting up our new Mechanical and Electrical training operation in York. Running a successful Authorising Engineer (AE) Course marks a vital stage in our development. The AE course delegates were able to appreciate the effort that has been made to make the facilities as realistic as possible to allow the effective training of their designated Authorised Persons. Having a new purposely designed centre allows us the opportunity to include a variety of systems and equipment relevant to the working environment. We feel we have got the balance right but it was very reassuring and rewarding to receive so much complimentary feedback ’ Authorising Engineer (AUENG) For more information please contact our Account Managers on 0333 121 1215.
