Course Overview
Part G3 of the building regulations states that it is a legal requirement that all domestic vented and unvented hot water systems are maintained by a qualified person. On successful completion of this course you will be certified for five years to install, service and commission domestic hot water systems in the UK.
Who is This Course For?

This BPEC accredited course is aimed at plumbers and heating engineers who wish to gain the relevant certification to enable them to install, service or commission domestic hot water systems in the UK. To be eligible you must:

Hold a formal craft qualification e.g. National or Scottish Vocational Qualification ( NVQ/NVQ ) Level 3 in heating engineering or plumbing which will include water regulations ( Please supply copied of certificates )

OR

Have a number of years' experience in either conventional heating engineering in either conventional heating engineering or plumbing ( Please supply evidence to support this statement ) including water regulations.

OR

Currently undertaking a course in heating engineering or plumbing which will lead to a formal qualifications, such as NVQ level 3 heating and ventilation or plumbing already holding water regulations.

  • Design and installation of unvented hot water storage systems
  • Maintenance of unvented hot water storage systems
  • Requirements of the Building Regulations Part L1 – conservation of fuel and power
  • Sealed central heating systems
  • Practical fault finding
Prior to attending this course we recommend you have completed the following or their equivalent and possess:
Formal Craft Qualification.
Formal Heating and Plumbing Qualification.
Water Regulations
Photographic ID - One recent passport sized photo
National Insurance number
Essential that the course manual is studied before attending
Essential that the course self assessment is completed before attending
Books / Manuals - You must bring the following manual: Unvented Hot Water Storage Systems
Certificate: You must be able to supply either a copy of a formal craft qualification e.g. NVQ/SVQ Level 3 in heating engineering or plumbing which will include Water Regulations
Or evidence to support a number of years' experience in either conventional heating engineering or plumbing including Water Regulations
Or evidence to support that you are currently undertaking a course in heating engineering or plumbing which will lead to a formal qualification, such as NVQ Level 3 heating and ventilation or plumbing already holding Water Regulations
